COURSE 2009 – 2010. NEW COURSES, TIMETABLES AND PRICES
|
Language courses for children:
We teach classes for children from the age of 3 years. These courses are structured individually (educational programme), following assessment of the particular needs of the group. |
|
 |
Throughout the school year we undertake continuous monitoring by means of termly reports, meetings with parents, assessment of the system and of the centre and personalised strategies for official examinations. At the end of the school year, we offer advice to guide each pupil's later
work.
Objectives
To boost the oral part of the language through dynamic, fun learning.
To seek to stimulate, motivate and get the children to participate in the lessons so that they take English into their daily lives in a natural way.
|
 |
Boys and girls of this age are highly receptive to new sounds and have no problem adding them to those of their own mother tongue.
Through this course we reinforce the language following the learning guidelines of the course the children are following at
school. |

OFFICIAL
EXAMINATIONS:
The Cambridge children's examinations consist of three levels: Starters, Movers and Flyers. Together, these three examinations form a path to English learning from the beginning through to day-to-day use. |
 |
The objectives of these exams are:
- To develop an observant attitude to the carrying out of tasks.
- To emphasise the fact that language is important for communication. To teach the children this notion, work is done on the four skills: reading comprehension, written comprehension and production, oral comprehension and oral production.
- To encourage the children to continue learning the language.
· STARTERS:
This is the first exam in the series and is aimed at children from the age of 7 years. The exam lasts some 45 minutes: 20 minutes of "listening" (aural comprehension), 20 minutes of "reading and writing" (reading and writing comprehension) and 5 minutes of "speaking"(oral production).
· MOVERS:
This is the second level of this series of examinations. To take this exam children have to be between 8 and 11 years old. The exam lasts approximately one hour and consists of three parts: 25 minutes of "listening" (aural comprehension), 30 minutes of "reading and writing" (reading and writing comprehension) and 7 minutes of "speaking" (oral production).
· FLYERS:
This is the third and last exam in the series and is for children aged between 9 and 12 years. It takes a little over an hour: 20 minutes of "listening" (aural comprehension), 40 minutes of "reading and writing" (reading and writing comprehension) and 9 minutes of "speaking" (oral production).
