Cultural and
linguistic weekends
SLP organises cultural and linguistics weekends to different
countries. Last February, a group of 23 English students and their
teachers, went to London, where they could improve their English and
visit the most important places in the city. After the great success
it had, we are organizing other weekends for the next course to
France, Italy, Germany...

Carnival weekend
This is an activity for children.
The objective is to use the foreign language with a creative outlook as a tool for communication, to enjoy using it and to foster interest in classmates through simply having a good time together.

The date chosen for this activity is usually around Carnival time. It is open to all children aged 7 to 12 years, whether or not they are SLP pupils |

Halloween
One of the highlights of each year for children studying English at SLP is Halloween.
The objective of this activity is to find out a little more about the culture of the English-speaking countries through their festivals and traditions, including the type of food traditional on that date. |

The children paint their faces and dress up in costumes. We seek to stimulate oral language use through games, which we sometimes play out in the street. The children also take part in decorating the
school. |

Theatre
We also organise theatrical performances. With all the pupils (boys and girls) studying languages at our school and at the schools we go out to, we put on a play. Written and directed by the SLP teachers and based around some traditional story, all the pupils from infants to top primary have some role to play. |

The objective here is to share in communicative activities and develop in a foreign language by taking part in the performances.
For staging the play, SLP hires a suitable venue, and the audience is normally swelled by the children's family and friends who come to see the play. |
